Enjoy an accompanied walk through the Findhorn Dunes.

19 December, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Free

Enjoy a guided / accompanied walk through the Findhorn Dunes with Timothy Finnegan a knowledgeable member of the Findhorn Dunes Trust. Learn about this unique and delicate natural habitat, called dune heath, which supports many and rare lichens, as well as familiar Scots Pine. You’ll see some invasive plant species and learn a little about them. You will discover some of the history of the dunes, including fishing and the Second World War. You will certainly go along paths, which most people never find and you’ll probably see seals in the Bay.

You’ll need to wrap up warm, with outdoor footwear, waterproofs, warm clothes, woolly hat and tough gloves and binoculars if you have them.

Maximum of 3 children with an accompanying parent/guardian or carer.

There will be further accompanied walks through the Findhorn Dunes over the next few months.

Meet at the car park at the beach end of Dunes road, Findhorn.

The length/time of the walk may be reduced depending upon weather and age of children.
